Till 16th of March 2014 we can visit the exhibition “A cop d’ull” in Palau de la Virreina, Barcelona. The exhibition is a review of the photographic production in Barcelona on the last decade. There are 89 artists, including Pere Formiguera and Albert Gusi, more than 500 works and it’s structured in 11 thematic blocks. On the block Dramatis Personae, Portraits on the public sphere, we can find 6 portraits of Pere Formiguera and the work Approximations to a Catalan cultural geography, by Albert Gusi.

JOAN ANTON MARAGALL NEW PRESIDENT OF ART BARCELONA
Joan Anton Maragall of Galeria Trama has replaced Carles Duran in the presidency of Associació Art Barcelona, in the election of new directors. The new rectors of the Associació are: President: Joan Anton Maragall (Galeria Trama); Vice Presidents, Joan de Muga (Galeria Joan Prats) and Ana Mas (+R Galeria); secretary, Violant Porcel (Galeria Marlborough); treasurer, Fidel Balaguer (Galeria Balaguer); vocals, Carlos Duran (Galeria Senda), Carles Taché Abella (Galeria Carles Taché) and Quico Peinado (Galeria dels Angels).
The assembly has had a special thank you to Carlos Duran for his excellent task done over ten years as a president of the entity. The new committee, in which most of the old members are still the same, has the proposal of consolidate different started projects, specially the national and international projection of the contemporary art galleries.
The association is planning to do new initiatives like the celebration of collective openings during the new galleries season, the edition and diffusion of the book Galerisme a Barcelona in English and Spanish languages, and the organization for the second time of the cycle of exhibitions Art Nou, which is dedicated to the young creation. The new committee thinks that the most important thing is to keep the support of the public administrations in the culture, and especially in the international projection of the contemporary creation.

PRESENTATION OF THE MAGAZINE BONART

CICLE/SEGLE DE PERFORMANCE
From the Gallery Fidel Balaguer we have launched a cycle-in the century of the Art Performance. The Art Performance takes place in galleries all over Europe, making Barcelona an exception. From the Gallery Fidel Balaguer we want to start this cycle with the intention of becoming a reference point for artists, art professionals and people who are interested in this discipline. The cycle will be opened on the 27th of October 2011 at 7pm and will be bimonthly. Therefore there will be a performance that is coinsided with each one of the exhibitions that are planed from the gallery. The 2011-2012 cycle is consisted of five performances that are going to be held in October, December, February, Arpil and June. The selected artists are: Oscar Abril Ascaso, October 27, Anne Lise Le Gac, December 15, Pere Faura and Iñaki Alvarez,February 2, Ariadna Rodriguez, and The Salonières April 26, June 2012. AriadnaRodriguez is the commissary of the cycle.

Drawings, engravings, paintings and sculptures by Catalan artists Dominica Sánchez, Antoni Camarasa, Miquel Lligadas i Pujadas, belonging to the French patron Denise Lévy, today reached "record" prices in a Paris auction in the Salle Drouot Montaigne. The collectors have opted their preferences for large formats by Dominica Sánchez and for the paintings by Camarasa, have indicated from the auction house, and have indicated that the unsold works will form a new sale planned for the coming months. The French collector settled in Barcelona at the end of the 80’s, convinced that democracy would have a positive effect on autochthonous creations and She struggled to support these artists and promote their work on the international scene.

PERE FORMIGUERA
Pere Formiguera is the author of the photographs from the book "The Counts of Barcelona and his time", a book co-published by the Count of Barcelona Foundation and La Caixa to mark the 25th anniversary of the foundation. The work, directed by journalist Josep Maria Soria, reviews the history of the counts of Barcelona, essential for understanding the origins of Catalonia and Spain. Recently Javier Godo, Count of Godo, editor of La Vanguardia and vice president of the Count of Barcelona Foundation and Isidre Fainé, president of La Caixa, handed over a copy of the book, luxuriously bound, to king Juan Carlos at the Zarzuela Palace. Don Juan Carlos is the current count of Barcelona and President of the foundation, as was his father.
